Song of the Week: Will Smith - Summertime

The perennial summer song, Will Smith's Summer Time, always conjures up images of every BBQ and every family gathering I've ever been to.  Much as I hate summer lately, when I hear something like this I can't stay angry.

Anime Flashback: Flame of Recca

Flame of Recca's another show I started over the summer. I'd been meaning to watch for quite sometime, but it just wasn't a big priority. The manga was one of the first ones I read as a teenager when I got my first computer, and to this day it's still a favorite of mine. The anime, however, finished ages before the manga, and I was never a fan of incomplete adaptations. Particularly when the final arc is omitted, leaving the anime a shadow of it's manga. Still, I had to see what they'd done to it, so I gave the series a shot. Series synopsis as described by AniDB: Recca Hanabishi is a ninja, but is nearly killed in an accident. However, a girl named Yanagi heals him with her powers. Later, the two are tracked down by a woman who attacks them. She tells Recca to ignite his flame, but he is clueless. Macross Delta Episode 2: Audition with Death

How am I supposed to get on a ship when Best Girl isn't even involved with that nonsense? Welcome to the Macross Delta Review/Impressions series that I totally don't really have the time to do.   I'll try to keep these weekly, which means I should be doing episode 3 by Thursday and keep the rest done on a "by Tuesday" basis. Walkure Thoughts : Yes, Mikumo is totally the header image because she's my favorite out of the group.  She's basically Sheryl Norme with an even bigger flair for the dramatic, and she's totally going to end up my favorite character...y'know, provided she doesn't become a secret traitor later in the series.  (That's totally going to happen, isn't it?)   Also, the Walkure symbol is totally the Westside gang sign.  Just saying. Also: Judging by what I've seen online, Ikenai Borderline is already anisong of 2016.  I'm already upset the actual single hasn't dropped yet.   On to the review!

Dragon Ball: Ultimate Tenkaichi

Thought about passing on this game, but the fighting looks pretty slick. Also the entire Ginyu Force is in, which means they were actually interested in fitting characters into this thing. Also? The newest addition to the Tenkaichi games--a Hero Mode. Create-a-character is something people have wanted for some time. Initially, I didn't care. But having found out they let you become a Super Saiyajin? Well, now I can't help wanting to buy it.
